Serifa Altunen was a female, Arkanian Jedi Knight during the Old Republic and the time of the Clone Wars. Like some of her contemporaries, Serifa objected to the war and refused to participate. During the war, Serifa returned to her homeworld of Arkania to live in solitude to wait until the war was resolved. After the outbreak of the war, Serifa was visited by Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker. The pair hoped to convince Serifa to use her influence with the Arkanian government to declare itself neutral during the war.

However, as Serifa had no desire to actively participate in the war, she also had no desire to assist either side even in a diplomatic role. As the trio's conversation evolved into a discussion on the philosophical basis for the war, Master Altunen affirmed her objection to the war and maintained that she served the Force and the people, not the Senate or its laws. As a Jedi, Serifa pledge to make peace, not war. Refusing to change her position, Obi-Wan and Anakin left Arkania without succeeding in soliciting Serifa's help.
